One day in July 1963, my mom, my sisters, and I were thinking of going for shots that we needed for our move to Japan. After less than two years, my dad had orders for Japan. If we went, we would take a bus, pick up the car from my dad's work, and go on to get our shots. My mom told my dad that she would call him if we went. In the end we didn’t go, so she didn’t call him. But after work, my dad came home without the car. He said that he had gotten a ride home because he thought we had the car. So my mom started walking to the bus stop to get the car. As she walked to the bus stop, she saw the car parked in the elementary school parking lot, which was about a block from the house. My dad had parked the car there and walked home to play a joke on us!
