I figured since Mom was away, I would guest post. I don’t have any pictures to go with my memories, but when she gets to this time period, I am sure she will.
My first memories of my Mom are when we lived on Fort Hood. We lived there 6 years and left after I finished the 1st grade. I remember her letting me make cakes with my Easy Bake Oven. I remember sitting on her bed while she read me stories. I remember the time I tried to catch a cat that a “friend” dropped from the top of her porch enclosure. It was very tall and the cat was not happy. She tried to catch herself on my face. I remember crying back to the house and my Mom taking care of me. And the time she made me a hop-scotch shaped cake for my birthday. It took her forever, but ended up really cool. I think after that we just had round cakes with M-n-M’s for decorations. She also took some classes at the local college. We went with her to the campus once and they had sweet smelling honeysuckle. I ended up going to college there after high school.
She sounded like a really cool and fun mom.
