My Idol Shows Up Again

posted Friday, 3 March 2006

In one of my previous entries I talked about a little drawing of a sailor that my sister Dottie and I pass back and forth to each other.  Well, during my visit to Arkansas she gave it back to me.  I didn't think too much about it when she gave me big, black garbage bag.  My husband and I hadn't been with my family during Christmas, so we were giving each other Christmas presents even though it was February.  I opened it and inside was a smaller white garbage bag with I don't know how many knots.  Inside that bag was a box wrapped in pretty paper with a bow.  I opened it up and inside was newspaper.  Below the newspaper was a shoebox with duct tape ALL over it.  After finally opening the shoebox, inside there was shredded paper.  Below the paper was a plastic container filled with gold foil wrapping paper.  Inside that paper was a see-through gift bag tied with a ribbon.  Inside the bag was a paper towel roller that she had cut short.  Wrapped around the roller was pretty red yarn.  Inside the roller was a decorative paper box (by M. C. Escer).  Inside the tiny box was purple wrapping paper with My Idol inside!  About half way through unwrapping everything, I realized what was inside.  (I'm slow about these things sometimes!)  I told Dottie that I hadn't thought of a way to top the time she sent the drawing to me by registered mail and here she comes up with another great idea!  So My Idol! is on my refrigerator door and will stay for awhile, or maybe not.

P.S.  If anyone has a good suggestion on how I can give it back to her please let me know.  But e-mail me because I don't want her finding out anything.
